The magnum opus of Ocularist - 'Mashitup!' - was recorded from 2021 to 2023 and holds for you listeners a great variety of genres that are chewed up and spat out in your face to make for one of the most invigorating listening experiences you will ever hear in the history of mashcore.Starting off with a forceful intro that tops the tempo range for the album at 260bpm, that leads into a track that claws at a childhood sing-song that some UK listeners might recognise... from there, the heat is only cranked up, with DSP and melodies trashing what would otherwise be boring and lacklustre breaks layered over mid-2000s pop and rap. The last tracks on the first and second CDs are 8-12 minute megamixes, crammed with demos and unfinished tracks that were remastered and remixed and rearranged and reconstructed just for the sake of this album, which you should absolutely not miss out on. With bass that'll send your speaker diaphragms into the abyss and breaks that'll puncture your eardrums, 'Mashitup!' is not to be missed.
