Album Info

Release Date: 1995

Label: Chupa Verga Recordings

Leaving out the early noise/experimental stuff, "Silent Gliss" can be considered the first proper onq record. Released as a c46 tape by Onq's own tape label Chupa Verga Recordings in 1995, "Silent Gliss" was never reissued or re-recorded (except tracks 13, 16 and 18, re-recorded on 8 tracks in 2001), and still remains one of the author's favourites despite the very primitive recording technique, involving only a very cheap microphone and a mixer, plus a cassette walkman for overdubs. Lyrics, all about mono-cellular life forms and viruses, were printed and enclosed in the tape version, which was (and still is) not distributed in Onq's birthplace La Spezia as a sign of contempt towards its inhabitants.
