It is impossible to translate the Surinam poetry created by P-I Man literal into English as certain Surinam words and expressions do not have a meaning in other languages, countries or cultures. This is a result of the guerilla fought by the Marrons; one could not trust non-members of the army... Yet we have tried to approach the meanings as close as possible.
