The Time Lord and Highway Cavalier were recorder in 1978 at a 24-track studio in New Cross, London and featured Les Moody on guitar for these two tracks only. Judgment of theDead was recordfed in 1978 at Pagan Altar Studio. The Black Mass, Reincarnation and Night Rider were recorded between 1978 and 1979 at Pagan Altar Studio but featured Mark Elliot on drums instaed of Ivor Harper.

All songs transferred from cassette to vinyl, hence the relatively low sound quality. Please note that this is very early Pagan Altar and not to be confused with the later, better known material with a different line-up.

Cover painting by Andre Bouzikov depicting the Melrose Abbey in Scotland. This was the reputed burial place of 13th century wizard Michael Scot - a true time lord. Back insert photo of tombs in nunhead cemetery.
