Kansanvaltuuskunnan Tiedonantaja was the official newspaper of the revolution. The 100 year old issue used here #58, dated Saturday, April 13th, 1918. This is your chance to own a piece of history! The B-side is a version of Laulu Sisällissodasta featuring backing by Eteenpäin Orkesteri: Värre Vartiainen (kitara), Arttu Takalo (vibrafoni), Harri Rantanen (basso), Anssi Nykänen (rummut), Joonatan Rautio (saksofoni). Paleface comes with another one! This song takes us back a hundred years to the chaos and bloodshed of the Finnish Civil War of 1918. The song is the title track of the YLE TV series of the same name. The tune features Finland’s top male choir Ylioppilaskunnan Laulajat.

The song’s chorus is based on an old red prison camp song from 1918, called Kuolemaantuomitun Hyvästijättö (”Farewell from someone who has been sentenced to death”). The song’s lyrics and melody was found at the notorious Hennala prison camp in the belongings of an executed inmate.
