“This release may be only available for a very limited time—hours, days, weeks, etc, who knows? It's like life. 12 days ago, when I responded to my friend Paul Plimley's request: 'It would be really great to talk to you soon. Please call me or let me know a good time to connect. Looking forward, Paul' I learned that he had just moved to a hospice, & his time left to live was inevitably short. 12 days.
We spoke of plans to release a legacy of his recordings in the 'near future'. But I wanted to do something for him right now. So, over a couple of days I compiled this album of the tracks which he & I in some way made together; only a couple of which have been otherwise available. I also created 14 short simple plunderphonics of his piano solos. This was uploaded to Bandcamp as a private stream for Paul only. There have been no plans as to whether it should to continue to exist. If you do want to pay for it, your donations will go to where Paul finally wished would be best. - John Oswald"

"Producer John Oswald has compiled this collection, all featuring or plunderizing Maestro Plimley, as a gift for Paul, which we are sharing with you.
Here are some of his quick notes for this package:
- It was conceived, augmented (with 14 newly composed tracks) & packaged in 24 hours
- Paul Plimley and I have touched bases once in every blue moon over the past 5 decades
- The very short pieces were all plunderphonicized yesterday as glimpses of each of the tracks on Paul's solo album 'Everything In Stages' with the hope that intrepid listeners will seek out the originals.
- This has all happened so quickly that Paul & I had not come up with a title for the album. So for now it is eponymously 'Paul Plimley'.
