"Songs From The Capeman" contains Simon's own performances of songs from the Broadway musical he wrote and produced called "The Capeman" augmented by members of the original cast. The musical is based on the life of convicted murderer Salvador Agrón.

All songs on this album are sung by Paul Simon with the following exceptions:
Marc Anthony (who plays the young Salvador Agrón) and
Ruben Blades (who plays the older Salvador Agrón)
are freatured on "Time Is An Ocean",
Ednita Nazario (who plays Sal's mother, Esmeralda) sings "Sunday Afternoon" and
Marc Anthony sings with Mr. Simon on "Satin Summer Nights".
