Label: Karlrecords

Subtitle of the album:
A rework of Gustav Mahler's s symphonic poem

The liner notes from inside the digipak:

"In a previous century Gustav Mahler composed a symphony named "Titan". Created in the search for a work that echoed the industrialism and social change of the nineteenth century.
I believed that even though firmly rooted in the Classical tradition, 'Titan' was announcing what Contemporary music would become. It sounded natural to reconstruct it, add new flavours by having something constantly modern in the mix, adding electronic textures and then invite good friend Jono Podmore to contribute. He began identifying areas he could enhance or alienate further from their original form, and then set to work improvising and layering new material into the piece, mindful of the collage aesthetic in Mahler's work.
In a way reminiscent of "2001, A Space Odyssey" and "Forbidden Planet", "OFF TO TITAN" offers Romantic music in an ultra modern design which set the orchestra in a new space ...
Listening to the soundtrack, the Titan you're heading for is Saturn's biggest moon!
May the stars be with you ..."

The backing track is now being transcribed for full orchestra by David Plate in Köln as we intend to play the piece live: Philippe and Kumo on electronics with a full symphony orchestra - it should be quite an event ...
