The direct product of a class founded within The Boys Brigade" Bands at Grade 2 Nov/Juvenile and instrucional classes are now administered by an independent Association. Members featured include nine recipients of the "Queen's Awards", the highest award attainable in the B.B., reflecting general standards of loyalty and service which ensure universal respect and success.
The "Denny & Dunipace Pipe Band of Washington D.C." is one treasured acknowledgement in that this band, one of the finest in the Eastern United States, chose it name out of respect for and identification with Scottish bands philosophy of encouraging youth.
Dr R A Deuchar was appointed Pipe Major in 1975 and the first major award achieved at the Cowal Games in 1976. Three "Firsts" in Major Championships ensured the accolade
Champion of Champions" Grade 4 in 197, progressing rapidly through Grade 3 to Grade 2 in 1979. Five Continental visits following during which many musical and cultural links hove been forged.
Assuming control of the Drum Corps in 1983 R.S.P.B.A.College Board Convener D/M John MacInes provided a new dimension to the existing tutorial capability.
This production appropriately marks the 20th Anniversary of the first instructional class. The years of effort and musical expertise achieved reflect creditably on the membership, in particular those committed instructors who maintain the teaching tradition.
