Transmission IV - Moonloop EP by Porcupine Tree

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 2006-10

Label: Delerium Records

This is a re-issue of the original fan club release Porcupine Tree - Transmission - Moonloop EP and contains a complete improvisation from 1994, part of which was used as the basis for The Sky Moves Sideways era track "Moonloop".

Recorded at the Doghouse, Henley on 28th June 1994 by Markus Butler. Additional overdubs and mix at No Man's Land on 30th June 1994 by SW.

Limited edition of 1,000 copies. See also Porcupine Tree - Transmission - Moonloop EP.

This re-issue duplicates the dark purple PVC, screen printed bag of the original, but has small differences in cover artwork (comes in a matt finish sleeve, the writing and the reproduction of the moon is larger, the moon on the original EP contains traces of black, whereas this Delerium re-issue is only white). And the original EP clearly states "NOT FOR SALE, PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY" on the disc.

The CD has been remastered by Steven Wilson and now sounds better than ever. This is the final piece of The Delerium Years puzzle and features a long spacey, psychedelic improvisation of over forty minutes in length recorded during the session for the Sky Moves Sideways. The spaciest and most psychedelic of Porcupine Tree's recordings Moonloop is regarded as the holy grail for fans of Porcupine Tree's space rock era. The last ever release by Porcupine Tree on the Delerium Label due to the fact the catalogue was recently sold by Delerium.
