My Name Was Prince is the tenth promotional compilation album by Prince, available in Japan only in late Summer 1993 to be played in stores to promote the releases of The Hits 1, The Hits 2 and The Hits / The B-Sides.

The CD includes twelve tracks taken from the compilations (except the B-Sides) including three « new songs » from The Hits 1, The Hits 2: Nothing Compares 2 U (Live), Peach and Pink Cashmere.
