Over a year since our last release, Sorry Records is back with a profoundly wonky and sublimely jackin transmission from the American queer dance underground. Introducing Chessy! - the new EP from Pump Media Unlimited a.k.a. C Powers (Fixed Rhythms, Sweat Equity, Contagion Discs) and CH Rom (MOM RADIO).C Powers operates out of a terminal running P Klang G13 creator engine on 69xo, blasting her block-rocking pig-smashing beats straight to mp3 and often in one or less takes, live direct out of Portland but globally present and cybernetically ubiquitous. CH Rom is headquartered in NYC and performs content creation with a refurbished organic matcha-truffle hybrid 96kbps system, playing upwards of 4200 notes a day.
Together they are Pump Media Unlimited, widely celebrated in the bass drum scene and known for blistering tempos reaching as high as 420, even 1312 BPM. The Pumps are at once profoundly in touch with the ancient history of bass, and yet notably 65 million years ahead of their time.
Each of their records is as much a statement as an adventure, and “Chessy!” is no exception. There’s something for everyone here—like crunchy vapor bass?
