"The actual technique used ... involved the transfer to multiple-track tapes of the original instrumental recording and then singing over the original recording note by note, harmony by harmony, each solo and ensemble part in precisely the same tempo.... The original tracks were then removed to leave us with a vocal re-creation of the classic instrumental."
