The Companion is a twenty-eight minute synthesizer program, designed to be played in standalone format or alongside PEACE LOVE AND OUTER SPACE. It attempts to communicate the language of the standard song in a format that may be more accessible to the extraterrestrially minded. The melodies and arrangements of the songs are faithfully reproduced by a dedicated team of sonic scientists.
Adorned in cosmic lab coat, Roy conducted the music at Tin Hat studios like an experiment of sound. Performed by ROY, Ross Werlick, Rebecca Haygood, and Adrienne Mountain, the team used a variety of synthesis and noise methods to accompany the songs in their purest form of electronic sound wave.
This project is funded in part by factor, the government of Canada and Canada's private radio broadcasters.
Both sides of the tape are the same. when playing side B of the record you have to stop/or switch side of the cassette.
