1935 - 1977
"I've been away for awhile now..."

I liked him as a person, admired him as
an entertainer. The warmth he generated
upon meeting him face to face twice in
my life was as fulfilling as watching my
two sons grow.

He knew who I was. He knew my sound
was compared to his, time and time
again. Yet, without animosity, he
welcomed me into his home and told me
how he admired my talent.

I was his fan, loyal to the end. When he
died, a part of me died along with him.
His pictures hang in my home. His
recordings placed in safe surroundings.
His memory stored respectfully in my
mind.

If I had a wish, it would be to hear
his voice again. This recordings is a product of
that fantasy.

Ral Donner

Scotty Moore, D.J. Fontana,
