Aadharshila is a film about a young film maker- a man who finds himself at a point of beginning in his career and in his life. It portrays the beliefs and hopes of young people today and measures the odds against them. It is a story of dreams, of humiliation, of conviction and of courage.
These are also the themes of the songs in aadharshila- songs of joy, of sorrow, of reflection and of action, in styles as varied as the popular film song, the qawwali, the folk song and disco.
