"Nilgiris" grew out of a commission in 2008 from Métis, a festival organized by the Festival de Saint-Denis. A first performance of the work was given on April 4th, 2008 on the island of Saint-Denis (at the Jean Vilar Cultural Center) in the context of Métis.
