This release presents Ray Barretto’s complete original album ‘Barretto Para Bailar’ (1961, originally on Riverside) which marked his debut as leader.
Added, as a bonus, is the complete Tito Puente album ‘Dance Mania’ (1957, originally on RCA) featuring Barretto, and rated by the New York Times as “one of the top 25 albums of 20th Century popular music”.
The only two existing alternate takes from ‘Dance Mania’, as well as a further 1959 song featuring Barretto with Puente complete this edition.
