From booklet: "This first American recording of a complete opera by RCA Victor was made in the late Spring of 1950 in New York City."

Two inserts are included in the box set: 1) a full size, sewn-bound illustrated booklet, and 2) a smaller, staple-bound libretto in English and Italian.

A note on the tracklist. The labels on the discs of this set were arranged for an automatic record changer ("drop-automatic") -- Disc 1 (Sides A & B) was labeled with Sides 1 & 6; Disc 2 (Sides C & D) labeled Sides 2 & 5; Disc 3 (E & F) labeled Sides 3 & 4.

A note on the catalog numbers: "LM(X) 6101" is printed on the spine and on the libretto (see photos); "LM 6101" is printed only on the record labels.
