Available only via Bandcamp : https://concretecollage.bandcamp.com/album/707-202-ep"Here is the story behind these five tracks. I wanted to record a
TR-707 sample pack for myself (and later the label) and had the opportunity to borrow the machine from a friend, Mr. Handicap Record (hello François !).
When stopping by his studio I noticed his MC-202 in a corner, not plugged in, so I asked him if I could borrow it along with the drum machine.
One hour later I'm in my studio with the two things plugged in, starting to mess around with the horrible / amazing sequencer on the 202 and some beats from the 707. At the end of the day I had finished one track and recorded so many lines with the two machines that I could make a few others.
Over the next five days I continued and wrote a track each day keeping only the two machines as sound sources. I had so much fun I thought I would make a record out of it !
And here it is ! A majestic ode to the end of the 80s / early 90s electronic music scene, with a bit of acid, a bit of rave, some glitchy beats and shitload of not caring.
I hope you will enjoy listening to these tracks as much as I had fun making them !"
