Track A1 is fantasy or fraud: it is not Richard Wagner conducting. It is taken from Mapleson cylinders, with Lillian Nordica, Ernestine Schumann-Heink, and Georg Anthes singing, and Alfred Hertz conducting, at the New York Metropolitan Opera, 9 February 1903. They can be heard in "The Mapleson Cylinders 1900-1904 - Complete Edition - Recorded during performances at the Metropolitan Opera House - Rogers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound: R&H-100 (1985), Side 9, Bands 7 and 8. These recordings had been issued earlier by the International Record Collectors' Club: see Jonathan Brown, "Great Wagner Conductors" (2012), p.753. They appeared again on Grammofono 2000 AB 78753/54 (1997).
