While the hype sticker and page ten of the 12-page booklet say "digitally remastered by Henry Rollins", comparing the waveforms from the original release of 'The End Of Silence' (72787-21006-2) confirm that tracks 1-1 to 1-10 have not been remastered. However, Tracks 1-11, plus 2-1 to 2-9 were remastered for this 2002 2CD set.

Tracks 1-1 to 1-10 were first issued as the album 'The End Of Silence', which was produced by Andy Wallace and released by Imago on February 25th 1992.

Tracks 1-11 & 2-2 were recorded live in Lyon, France on March 2nd 1992.
Track 1-11 is a cover of the Richard Berry song 'Next Time'.
Track 2-2 is a cover of The Pink Fairies song 'Do It'.

Tracks 1-11 and 2-1 were first issued on the 'Tearing' CD / 12-inch singles, which were released by Imago in August 1992 (7278725018-2 / 7278725018-1).

Track 2-1 is a longer version (10:13) of the Suicide cover 'Ghost Rider' — an outtake from 'The End of Silence' recording sessions. A shorter (5:45) version of 'Ghost Rider' appeared on 'The Crow (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)', which was released by Atlantic on March 29th 1994 (82519-2).

Tracks 2-3 & 2-7 were recorded live at the Manchester Academy in Manchester, England, UK on April 25th 1992.
Track 2-7 combines a jam on The Velvet Underground song 'Move Right In' with a riff that Vernon Reid brought to a Rollins Band soundcheck that they titled 'Hollow Man'.

Tracks 2-4 to 2-6 were recorded live in the U.K. on April 26th 1992.

Track 2-8, combines Vernon Reid's 'Hollow Man' jam with a cover of the Richard Berry song 'Next Time', which was recorded live at the Manchester Academy in Manchester, England, UK on April 24th 1992. Like 2-7, track 2-8 features Vernon Reid [Uncredited] from the band Living Colour.

Track 2-9 is a jam with the band Butthole Surfers, which was recorded live at the Lollapolloza festival in Dallas, TX, USA on August 23rd 1991.
