Label: Fractal Meat Cuts

Rosanne Robertson is an artist based in Manchester. Working with performance, sculpture, assemblage and sound she explores tensions, anxieties and relationships between body, object and environment.

These recordings were made with the materials of Appendage and Bond -a sculptural work activated and reworked by the body in performance with a minimalist set of sound making, a new body of assemblage and lightweight sculptures cut from the body during performance. Appendage & Bond has been developed as part of Rosanne Robertson's project Too Much which explores mental health, focussing on the physicality of anxiety and heightened emotional and psychological states.

Recordings are made of short actions for microphone with minimal editing, such as 'Trigger' which includes layering the sound of ripping nylon intending to mimic the violent effect of withdrawal on the brain and a feeling of interference or exaggerated manic thinking.
