Album Info

Release Date: 2020

Label: Cordelia Records

This album was originally released on LP and CD in 1991. We recorded all the songs twice, once for the LP version and once for the CD, so all the tracks on this 2020 edition, which has been meticulously restored using the original analogue multi-track tapes, are different performances. The only exception is “A Science Bar” which I imagine we couldn't be bothered to record twice because it's a bit complicated, although, just for fun, the two versions on here are different mixes. In addition there are seven bonus tracks from the sessions on disc one. We recorded 15 versions of the track “Ducklings”, four more of them are included here, but the others are too extreme and disturbing ever to be released. Version three of“What we waited for” has a saxophone solo. Robyn, who wrote the song, was often vocal about his horror of the instrument, so when my tenor playing friend Andy Nicholls a 9 him to record on this track to play a hilarious joke on Robyn. When he found out he tried to stab me. ot really).
