Album Info

Release Date: 2022

Label: GAD Records

The legendary tour, the most progressive hits and extended, startling improvisations. The first of SBB Danish concerts from 1979, is now finally released on CD to open the “Live Cuts” series which will present the concert adventures of the band.

In May 1979, SBB gave five concerts, which have stirred great emotions among the band’s fans to this day. The short Danish tour, whose parts would later be broadcast by the Polish Radio, opened a new chapter for SBB and helped the band catch the wind in its sails after several months of relative inactivity. The musicians returned to tried and tested solutions and along with their highlights (including “Going Away” suite or “Follow My Dream”) again went on to play long and extended improvisations. At that time, some themes were composed with a chance to become the core material for the band’s new studio recordings. It was not meant to be, and the Danish tour was the only moment when they truly came to life.

The two-disc album features the recording of the full concert which took place on 1 May 1979 in Esbjerg (Denmark), reconstructed and remastered based on original tapes from the band’s archives. The release cover artwork is a previously unpublished graphic by Marek Goebel, known from the LP project “Ze słowem biegnę do ciebie”. The booklet includes a new liner notes, photos, and memorabilia. The album starts the “Live Cuts” series devised to collect and organize SBB’s concert achievements spanning over the band’s entire music life, and new releases are to be published soon.

Issued in a slim jewel case for 2 CDs with a transparent, double-sided tray that opens to the right (a right-side hinged). Includes a 12-page stapled booklet.
