[Tracks 5-7 to 5-10: Studio - Maida Vale 4, 25/11/1981, first transmission on 03/12/1981]From the label's site:
"Compiled, designed and curated by Sad Lovers & Giants, WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH is the first comprehensive anthology of the band’s recordings (...) spans the band’s entire career, with every recording of note, sleeve-notes by Garce and design by ex-member Simon Blanchard."
However, this does not imply that the original albums are present via this box. For instance: the debut album "Epic Garden Music" is included (2-1 to 2-8), but the second album "Feeding The Flame" isn't represented in its entirety. It's there via tracks 2-10 to 2-13 & 2-15 to 2-18, but the 4:36 album version of "Man Of Straw" is missing, as is the 6:12 12" version; only the 3:28 7" version is included (1-8).
The versions of "Lost In A Moment", "The Tightrope Touch" and "Cow Boys" are the 1988 remixes done for the Midnight CD releases of "Epic Garden Music" and "Feeding The Flame", and not the original single versions.
"The Mirror Test" tracks are the 'redux' versions not the original Midnight release versions (confirmed by Garce himself).
"Seven Kinds Of Sin" is duplicated on Disc 1 and Disc 3, as the former is from the 12" and the latter from the LP. However, a 2019 repress makes one change, which is replacing the former with a re-recorded version from 1990, which in the context of Disc 1 being singles seems odd. Also, the source text info in the booklet wasn't changed to reflect this.
The "Total Sound" tracks are from low-quality digital files with noticeable noise reduction and digital artifacts present compared to the original LP release.
