Sandra Cross has undertaken the 'Crossing Over' to stardom with the similar ease and fluidity that she has shown herself as both dulcite toned singer and talented songwriter.
The Firm productions has taken a cross section of Sandra's greatest hits and mounted them on a select background of four of her most gifted contemporaries.
We first tasted Sandra's potential in the late 1970's when she released her debut single "I Adore You" (available on the "Just Lovers" album) and with the prestigious results that ensued we have seen Sandra crossing bridge after bridge in the achievement of even greater musical heights; a journey which has brought her success and renown, not only on the singing, but also on the songwriting and touring circuits of Great Britain and Europe.
The juxtaposition of Ms. Cross and her contemporaries in this album gives the opportunity to hear the insormontable skills of the 'Albians'. They orchestrated the backing sound that accompany all the tracks on the album (except "Confession Hurt") as well as singing and writing their own contribution "The People".
The Albians have been brilliantly entwined with three absolute gems of 'Lovers Rock': Brown Sugar, Mellow Rose and Maria Taylor. Their very presence on the album served to enhance and reflect Sandra's success, for each of the artistes is allowed to shine, uninhibited, in their own right.
So, for the next 45 minutes indulge in crossing over with Sandra and the Firm to the harmonious and relaxing world of 'Lovers Rock'.
