A year in the making, I Can Do Nice was recorded in three different locations in Dublin and elaborates on the sounds and themes of its predecessor, with richer production and more developed instrumentation. Thirteen tracks pull the listener into darker territory, punctuated by passages of ambient soundscapes, which are interspersed between the tracks. Warm acoustics and delicate electronics underpin Jim Lawler’s fragile vocal evoking the later work of Talk Talk and Sigur Ros in quieter moments, to reveal a beautiful, shimmering musical core.
