In preparing material for the Sub Rosa album last year dedicated to the work of British writer Anthony Burgess, (Conversations with the Anthony Burgess cassette archives 1964-1993), I made several works that were never released or heard.
Here are two versions that will never be officially released. One was far too long for the compilation, the other one too minor. I often have many alternative mixes and versions of tracks you might be familiar with in the archive.
The longer work here, AB2, was created entirely live on my modular synth system, running the tape recordings of Burgess playing the piano through the Make Noise Morphagene and Eventide Magneto. In many ways they emulate tape technology with added control and higher quality. I like how I can sometimes just let them run and play out in ways that even surprise me.
