"The SCREW RADIO show beginning twice a week on 97.1FM in the Los Angeles area, eventually expanded to every night. After six months on the air ('92-'93), the station was sold to a Vietnamese group, interrupting the show. SCREW RADIO will soon re-appear on-line and elsewhere (currently on pirate radio). The excerpts comprising this document were taken from that six month period. The "SCREW CREW", led by host Poindexter Stewart, intersperces comedy with social/political commentary and other unusual entertainment as documented here. The show has proved to be prophetic, predicting the death of Kurt Cobain (true). It is believed that some of Poindexter Stewart's on air comments about the record business cost him a solo deal which was in the works with Matahor Records, from which the subsequently backed-off. Did Poindexter's midnight liason with Liz Phair envoke the violent jealousy of one Jerry Cosey?"Recorded at Casa Destroy Recording Studio, Long Beach, CA.
This release lists disc 1 as having 50 tracks when it actually has 51. Track 1-11 is the additional track not listed anywhere on this release.
We wish to thank many "SCREW" participants. "One day every radio will be a SCREW RADIO.." - Poindexter Stewart
