Label: Helen Scarsdale Agency

Internal resonances of a combination of prehispanic and more recent clay burial urns were subjected to the record/playback process pioneered by Alvin Lucier in order to amplify them, allowing each vessel to sing with it's own voice. All sound sources created during the residency program MUUA Lab/C3P in the Museo Universitario de la Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia, January to April 2013, supported fully by Casa Tres Patios, Medellín. The second piece includes a sonic activation of the gallery space using prehispanic musical instruments with Alejo Henao and Miguel Isaza. Muchas gracias a Tony Evanko, Sonia Sequeda y todos a Casa Tres Patios; todos al Museo, especialmente Luisa Blandon; Daniel Luna; Stacia; Sarita; Alejo y Miguel; todos a Plazarte; Nancy Maja, Ana Maria y Alexandra de Hipertropico y Melina Escobar Duque.
And of course Helen herself!
