We present a compilation of experimental music “Voinov Function Collages", which was released on the label Simphonic Silence Inside at number 175. The compilation was published in support of the eponymous audio installation project for the gallery "Bridge Over the Styx" (Art Center "Pushkinskaya-10", St. Petersburg). As materials for audio installation, musicians of experimental genres created compositions-accompaniment, for the author's collages of the artist Vadim Voinov, whose works fill the gallery space. Using the method of arranging old things into separate compositions, called by the author — function-collages, the artist created a panorama of the history of Russia in the early XIX — mid XX centuries. Sound works for function-collages can be considered as a sublimation of the artistic and historical context inherent in the Voinov's work. The collection includes works by 10 composers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh and Rostov-on-Don. Project participants: Peter Theremin, Asphodela, Arsen Sogoyan, Dmitry Ulyanov, Vitaliy Koltygin, Konstantin Beresnev, ORM, Symphocat, Tonya Krichit Arr, Notnotice. Project curator Ilia Symphocat.“The Bridge Over The Styx” is an author's gallery of the artist Vadim Voinov, established in 1994 as part of the Museum of Nonconformist Art with the support of the Department of Modern Trends of the State Russian Museum. The exhibition presents unique function collages by Vadim Voinov, dedicated to understanding the modern history of Russia.
