Album Info

Release Date: 1960-11

Label: World Record Club

Australian WRC pressing, sourced from original stampers and featuring unique sleeve art. First issued in November 1960, this was reissued almost annually in the 1960s as part of WRC's Christmas sales push. The last known pressing was 1968. It is unknown if it was ever issued in a regular cardboard sleeve. The vinyl seems to react with the sleeve over time, leaving a residue pattern on the playing surface. A Christmas card-like insert was included, with credits and track titles, but this seems to be missing in most copies these days.

Issued in a heavy vinyl sleeve with see-through front. There is a carboard insert with a cover picture on one side (the other side is blank). The sleeve is blue plastic with a pocket for the single sheet cardboard insert, and another pocket for the LP itself. Mono and stereo versions have the same presentation - the mono version has "MW-2006" on beige 'strobe' labels, while the stereo has "MW-2006" on green 'strobe' labels. The stereo was issued with a large "S" sticker on the front of the sleeve (either on the cardboard insert, or on top of the plastic. The back of the plastic sleeve has the World Record Club logo in silver print. (Later?) copies, with red plastic, are blank on the back.

The publishing credits are one aspect where changes appear... but it may be a glitch between mono and stereo versions.
