SISTER DRAG THE SUN is not intended to be a live group doing gigs etc. but a boundaryless studio project which, for the purposes of this tape, was Matt, Neil, Paul, Mick & Ian, who played/manipulated anything we could get our hands on. (Thai flute, ring modulator, bagpipe chanter, tablas, box of ex-broadcast 1/4" tape we found at a boot fair, wave generators as well as all the usual guitar/drums/bass stuff.) We're not above pinching things & putting them in a new context & we like surrealism, Dada, Musique concrète (à la John Cage & Stockhausen), tape editing & Ummagumma (why didn't they stick with it, the fools?) There's a number of puzzles, running gags, false trails & tricks woven into the fabric of the tape as well, that hopefully start to become apparent on repeated listens. Like it says on 'Sixteen teeth, one tail & a bowl', "our strength is in our nothingness" (We hope!)
