About the EP

Unlike my previous EP "26", which was about as rushed as can be, I wanted to take my time with my next release. Recorded in between August 2013 and January 2014, "Pulse" was intended to be a collection of songs that were each unique in their own way with the only linking factor being that they had my "sound". I also felt a full length wouldnt be cohesive enough in my current mindset which is why I went with releasing another EP. I changed my plan ever so slightly with the inclusion of the two part title track (my first multipart track since the three "Multiverse" songs off "Cassini") but while the two parts share themes and elements again I wanted each part to stand up well on its own. This also played a factor in having the two parts of the title track on opposite ends on the EP. This EP is also the first of my releases to feature my eight string guitar. I've always been a fan of extended range instruments and have used my seven string guitar extensively in my previous releases. I'm excited to hear how you respond to my new eight string material and my approach to using an eight string on the EP. All in all, I hope i have achieved my goal of creating five unique and interesting tracks for you to enjoy !
