1950s recordings. As the booklet's cover photo reveals, when these performances were released as Mercury LPs in the USA in the early fifties, the name of the orchestra was shown as the Stockholm Radio Symphony Orchestra, a name never used by an orchestra in Sweden. Yet in the LPs' very first appearance in the USA and UK, on the Metronome label, the orchestra was correctly identified as the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
