This CD is a document of SKEPTICS work from late 85 to early 87; the music featured here is compiled from live and studio performances. Although Sensible Shoes, Bub and PCH mix were recorded and produced in 1990, Sensible was composed and performed in 85.
The live tracks reflect the early experiments Skeptics pursued in combining traditional instrumentation with electronic and machine-based rhythm and sound.

Jonny Come Lately, Spring, The Bulldozer Song and Men '0’ War hail from early 85 and represent a period after the departure of original guitar player Robin Gauld and before the addition of the superbly textural guitar of John Halvorsen. These sometimes faulty recordings made on a small 4-track setup were among the first recordings with electronics.

Remaining tracks Blue, Dodonski, Water, Fwoney and You Look Great were recorded during the Skeptics 3 sessions with the intention of being included on the long lost Skeptics 2 LP, however due to factors beyond our control these songs were not mixed until the Sensible EP sessions.

Skeptics was a passionate concept from the very outset and a memorial to the outstanding musical and lyrical endeavours ot the greatly missed David D’Ath. This collection of recordings feature the musical and production skills of David D’Ath, Nicholas Roughan, Dan White, John Halvorsen, and Brent McLaughlin, with vocal assistance from Kim Gaylord and Christine Tither on Spring.

This CD is lovingly dedicated to Soweeta and Sarah D’Ath.
