The bouncing, jazz-fusion “Calibrate” is the new single taken from Slowe’s debut album ‘Where The Mind Wanders’. The avant-soul project has garnered support from Gilles Peterson, Robert Elms (BBC Radio London), James Threlfall (BBC Introducing), Don Letts (BBC Radio 6 Music), Laurent Garnier and Wordplay Magazine, amongst others.

Leaning into Slowe’s signature jazzy production with swirling psychedelic undertones, the track perfectly summates the musical and introspective motifs of the album as the closing track. “Calibrate” explores “the fear of going backwards, the longing for growth, and the need for personal calibration to achieve balance and clarity”, Slowe explains. Guitarist Eli Jitsuto, a member of the new wave dancefloor instrumentalists Snazzback, adds a floating guitar riff that glides through the nirvanic soundscape. The lush, retro feel is paired with the fluttering vintage synth, spacey drum break and fuzzy bass strummed by Samuel Fox. Slowe’s blissed-out summer anthem marks her favourite track to date, “this song is the one I’m most proud of” she adds, with inspiration taken from greats like Tyler, The Creator and Tame Impala.
