"Slowe shares intimate, orchestral soul-jazz ballad taken from debut album ‘Where The Mind Wanders’The intimate “Stay Right Here” is the fourth single taken from Slowe’s debut album ‘Where The Mind Wanders’ [out 28th July]. The project has garnered support from Robert Elms (BBC Radio London), James Threlfall (BBC Introducing), Don Letts (BBC Radio 6 Music), Laurent Garnier and Wordplay Magazine, amongst others.
“Stay Right Here” celebrates a 10-year milestone in her relationship, “it’s quite a beautiful thing to know someone that well and to have shared so much together” Sophie reflects, as she gives herself permission to wholly embrace the feeling of contentment. The orchestral soul-jazz instrumental complements the sultry, sentimental lyrics, sung in her signature featherlight tones. Aiming for a classic, 70’s soul feel Slowe and the co-producer Laurence Fazakerley Buglass composed a string section by delicately layering each player and recreated a vintage quality using pedal effects to pair with Conor Harrington’s relaxed drum-line. With it’s cathartic resonance, Slowe invites the listener to relish in the sanctity of deep human connections, as she describes “literally wanting to ‘stay right here’, in this moment of our lives”, cherishing each-others company."
