Three things about Rhode Island: it is the smallest U.S. state by far, has an amazing freak-out scene for its size and it is also home to Judge Frank Caprio (the TV traffic court judge who'll let you off if you've got a kid in tow).

There's also Jordan Root, aka Snap Dragon.

His album for Complex Holiday, "Flux", is a fluid and beautifully put together collection of joyful, maximalist tones; a bouncy castle in a forest in the shape of a great big modular synth.

"These pieces are all built off of improvised sessions with modular synths recorded throughout 2020.

In a year of upheaval, I started creating music that mirrored the fractured feeling of time, both constantly changing but also stuck in place.

I aimed to balance static repetition with endless movement, to find peace in perpetual change and joy in fluidity and growth."
