The words "Becoming Less / Less Deep / To Be Inside / Nothing Keeps" are taken from the lyrics of "One Step Higher" which is track A2 on this album. These words wrap around from the back of the album cover to the front, and have led to some confusion as to what exactly the band intended the title to be. Most of the time it is only noticed that the front says "Less Deep Inside Keeps" and the words on the back are neglected. Additionally, this release is sometimes titled as "Less Deep Inside Keeps / Becoming Less To Be Nothing" which simply states the front side words and then the back side words. Regardless, the title for this entry (using only the front side words) is consistent with the one used on Dischord's site.
At the conclusion of "You've Heard It Before" at the end of side A, there is a faint piece of a track that sounds a bit like the other songs on this album. Indeed, it is taken from "Looking Around" by Lunch Meat, which was an earlier incarnation of Soulside. The track appears in its entirety on the Lunch Meat/Mission Impossible split 7".
