For most of the time during 1987 and 1988 that we were making the Steaming Coils "Breaded" LP, David Chrisman and I shared a cool little apartment (no longer there, natch) near the corner of Moorpark St. and Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks, California. It seemed as if our lives centered around my Tascam four-track cassette recorder and we obsessively tracked every idea and sound that came out of us. This tape is a montaged collection of never before released material from said period comprising many ideas which never crystallized into full-blown songs, early versions of songs from the LP, elements that ended up on the album, multitrack out-going phone machine messages and sonic experiments all pieced together from the original four-track masters in the summer of 2015 - Brad Laner
