Release Date: 1989-01-23Label: Hot Air
Cassette packaged inside a Kellogg's Variety cereal box, together with eight small sheets of paper bearing credits and art, all inside a Biohazard baggie. From the release notes on the SHW Bandcamp page: "Originally released cassette tape scratchiness from 1989. Hand fashioned in batches of 16 or 32 ( depending on how many 8 packs of those pocket sized cereal boxes we could afford ). skillfully razored open, cereal bag pin pricked, deflated and then re-sealed with a sticker ( so much air was in these things a cassette and more could easily be inserted after deflation, great value Mr Ke**og!), mostly sold by mail order and at a few shops or gigs.. maybe upwards of 128 might exist somewhere in the world... the birth of the Stock, Hausen & Walkman myth and true proof that their roots were as much in improvising as in tape scratching and sampling. All recordings live from a private afternoon session upstairs at The Star & Garter in Manchester and bits from a few other gigs at The Millstone. This cassette is so rare even members of the band didn't have a copy..."Tracks are numbered 1 to 10 for side A & 1 to 12 for side B.
Handmade limited edition of 110 to 130.
