Recorded in New Jersey, October 10, 1961. Tracks 1 to 11 represent the original album (1961, Savoy MG 12169), played by Sun Ra & The Solar/Myth-Science/Astro-Infinity Arkestra. Additional, non-credited, instrumentation: Bells from India, Chinese Wind Chimes, Wood Blocks, Maracas, Claves, Scratchers, Gongs, Cow Bells, Turkish Cymbals, Castanets. Track 6 "China Gates" is really entitled "China Gate".

Tracks 12 to 18 are bonus tracks comprising the three complete sessions preceding the Futuristic Sounds date. Track 12 is recorded at the Wonder Inn, Chicago, July 1960; track 13 in Chicago, 1960, and tracks 14 to 18 are recorded in Chicago, late 1960 or early 1961.

The inlay also contains an undated poem by Sun Ra, titled "Invisibility", and a discographical note concerning the seven bonus tracks.
