Suprilla takes it back to the times when MC’s didn’t have the option on working with a hundred different producers. And understood the concept of making a good rap album with just two people, all while keeping each song fresh and different. Suprilla consists of MC Godilla and DJ/Producer Reign Supreme, who produces every track on the album. Although you wouldn’t guess that just by listening to the cd, with having each beat sounding nothing like the beat you just heard which many find as a rare talent, rather than a flaw. All while keeping the theme of going through life as a lowlife, which we all know has it’s positive, negative, ignorance, and intelligent times, which this album mos definitely delivers. Joining the lowlife lifestyle on the album is Allentown’s finest: King Magnetic, Adlib, and Kasper, along with 215’s own Reef The Lost Cauze. Reign Supreme started as a Dj in 1996 after being a fan of hip-hop for a long time. As time went on, Reign Supreme practiced non stop and eventually met his future business partner of PoorHouse Productions, Optix. The two started to build and would eventually unite to do a radio show together for 91.3 FM WLVR.Reign Supreme became more than a radio DJ as he began doing numerous clubs, concerts, and other events. As all this was going on, Preme began to start sharpening his skills on the production end of Hip Hop in 2000. A couple years would pass until Reign Supreme and Optix opened up their own recording studio, PoorHouse Productions. After doing production for various emcees, Preme hooked up with GodIlla, the other half of the group Suprilla. To date you can catch Reign Supreme every friday night on 91.3 FM WLVR (www.wlvr.org) spinning Grandscale Radio. You can also catch him spinning various clubs in Allentown, Bethlehem, Lansdale, and Philadelphia throughout the week and weekend. Be on the look out for new production by Reign Supreme and new Suprilla material. Godilla is an mc out of the outskirts of PA. Grinding hard since the mid-nineties, he looks to continue his hustle well into the new millennium. He honed his skill as a member of I-78 and is now going for self! After releasing the well received mixtape with King Magnetic "It Is What It Is" he formed and created -Suprilla- with Reign Supreme. The album titled "Highlights of a Lowlife" gave Godilla a platform, thanks to the Poorhouse Studio. The olde drinking lyricist is looking to set a standard in "hip-hop" and drop quality filled projects in the near future.(Notes from Funky Souls)
