Album Info

Release Date: 1998-03

Label: Best Kept Secret

Released in a single-sided, b/w photocopied paper j-card with inner flap. The paper is folded and glued to the back of the front j-card, so the appearance is thicker.
Clear cassette with stickers on both sides.

Durations not listed on release.

Side One was recorded in the bedroom of Chris McFarlane in Denton, TX on two separate occasions:
The first four on 4-10-'96 and the second four on 7-7-'96.
It was all produced and mixed on a 4-track.
Most of the songs were unreleased, but "Notice" appeared in a different form (recorded during the second session, but omitte here) on the Something Cool compilation CD on Cher Doll, "Leave Him!" and "I'm Not Always So Stupid" appeared on the Feed Me With Your Kiss compilation tape on Tacky Tapes in Germany, and "Opportunities" appeared later on the then forthcoming The Family Twee "Indiepop List" compilation CD.

Side two is a bit more mixed, with all the Suretoss lineups represented.
"Catch As Catch Can" was recorded in February '95 for the Green Light Go! compilation CD on Bottlecap Records, and "Simple" was recorded in April '95 for the single Suretoss - ...Like The Sun (Jigsaw #001). When we found out it wouldn't fit, it was then released on the Extended Vacation tape compilation on Krebstar. "Awake" and "One Way" were recorded back in prehistoric times (February '94) as the frist Suretoss demo tape. Mike H. remixed the songs for the first session, and "Harmless Intentions" actually sounded cool, so it ws included here. "What Are You Hinting At Now?" catches the live power of the last Suretoss line-up's only show on 7-15-'96. The last song on the tape is also the newest of the bunch, recorded especially for this tape on 11-16-'97 in the bedroom of Chris McFarlane in Santa Cruz.

B8 is not credited on the release, it's a backwards instrumental.
