Dark Days by Tanner Garza, Funeral Parlor

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 2017

Label: Aural Canyon

Tanner Garza is an experimental musician that has been combining elements of jazz, glitch, drone, noise, R&B, 20th century classical and Musique Concrète into his own twisted take on the ambient genre using homemade tape loops, bass guitar, frippertronics, or chopped & screwed methods.

Funeral Parlor (2013-2017) was the dark Synth & Soul obsessed alter ego of Josh Doughty. For 4 years he swirled his interests of R&B, Synth, Noise, & Ambient into an entirely new genre all his own. Described by Tanner Garza as "Sade in bondage".

From September 2015 to December 2016, Tanner Garza & Funeral Parlor started cutting together what would eventually become "Dark Days". With the mutual influence of severe depression, an unhealthy fascination with the macabre, and the likewise enjoyment of collaboration, Tanner Garza & Funeral Parlor have turned a varying mix of everything weird. Synth Vs Tape Loops? Check. Porn samples Vs. Frippertronics? Check. Incredibly depressing track titles? Check. It's all here for the listener's pleasure.
