I had plans to fill up many pages with an elaborate oration about Woody and his music, but realized the man and his songs have always spoken for themselves. Trying to write a college thesis for this insert would go against the basic ideas that makes his tunes so powerful...no frills, down to earth, and bone dry just like the Dust Bowl where he cut his teeth.

These are the songs of our soil. Redemption through hardship. Blood and sweat. Laughter and tears. Fighting the good fight forever.
