Cassette tape was included with 96-page deluxe comic book, containing the full three-part miniseries Heroes In A Half-Shell, adapted from the Archie Comics' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures book. The original miniseries were published between August and December 1988, and take place prior to issue #1 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures, published in March 1989. The miniseries itself are a compressed adaptation of the first season of the cartoon series, which first aired in December 1987.

It's the first of three audiobook adaptations Random House made of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comics.

Cassette states the duration of side 1 as 44:29, and side 2 as 41:07, but the durations are likely swapped.
Some cassettes indicate they're made in the USA, while others indicate they're made in Singapore.

Publication date is stated as January 1989, although copies may have been available as early as December 1988.
