Some of these are the same recordings as on Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra - New York City, Autumn 1975, however, this tape has more highs and is probably an earlier generation. This release does not have that album's selection, The Organ Grinder; that album lacks the first three selections here recorded in Montreux. The version of Tip Toe on Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra - New York City, Autumn 1975 is a different one. And, of course, that album posits the recording date/location as being NYC, 1975.
